Assam government will set up 81 model schools for six to twelve standards across the state in the current financial year. State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the proposed schools would be set up based on the Gross Enrolment Ratio, GER. As the G E R is mostly low in the minority and tea community dominated areas, these areas have been given preference.
