In Sikkim, after a gap of more than 20 days since the devastating earthquake jolted the State last month, all schools and colleges will reopen on Monday. Regular classes will be held in all the schools from the first day itself as the government is keen to make up for the lost days.AIR correspondent says that while the nine member Central Assessment Team led by a Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs Shambhu Singh is now on a two day visit to South and West districts, another Central Expert Team of structural engineers is arriving in Gangtok on Monday.AIR correspondent says, the Human Resource Development Department has decided to hold the classes either in rented buildings or in temporary shades classrooms where the entire school buildings have collapsed or where the damages are beyond repairs. Besides, the classes will also be held in shifts in the available classrooms where the school buildings have been damaged partially. The aim is to continue with the regular classes without further delay as to make up for the losses in terms of studies.Meanwhile, the Central Team led by Mr. Shambhu Singh has assured that pre-fabricated structures will be made available wherever the school buildings have been totally collapsed. The Team has asked the State Government officials to submit a list of such school buildings immediately.
