Scholarship scheme launch to attract medicos in forces

The Government has announced a scholarship scheme for 25 candidates every year to attract talented medicos in the medical services of Central Para Military forces. The scholarships for candidates for admission to selected medical colleges will start from the 2010-11 academic session. The scholarship will be of 10,000 rupees per month for the total period of study in the medical college. There is a provision of reservation for SC/ST/OBC candidates. According to government, the scheme will not only help the candidates to pursue their studies but also get an attractive career in para-military forces with promotion up to the DIG, IG and ADG ranks. The Central para military forces which comprise have a network of 39 hospitals and 550 units to provide health care to nearly 8 lakh personnel of the central para military forces and their families all over the country.<br/>
