National Commission for Scheduled Caste (NCSC) has issued a notice to Financial Commissioner Revenue, Punjab, asking him to provide full details of action taken against those private colleges which have embezzled crores of rupees of scholarship amount meant for scheduled caste students.<br/><br/>AIR Correspondent reports that the commission has asked the financial commissioner, last evening, to submit the fact finding report to the commission within next 20 days along with the action taken against any government officer found involved in the case.<br/><br/>Taking cognizance of a newspaper report that Punjab government has reportedly unearthed a scam of 20 crore rupees in the centrally sponsored post-matric scholarship scheme, NCSC Vice President Rajkumar Verka has also written to the Director General of Vigilance to conduct an enquiry under his supervision.<br/><br/>According to the newspaper report, several institutions imparting technical education in Punjab had allegedly made dummy admissions of SC students to claim scholarship amount in their names.
