A scheme to provide Wind Generation based Incentives is being prepared by the government for encouraging generation of wind energy in the country. Incentives will be given over the tariff given by states for electricity fed into grids by wind turbines set up till the end of 11th plan. Official sources said that the scheme aims at attracting independent power producers and foreign direct investment to the wind energy sector. AIR correspondent reports that other financial incentives and technical assistance is already being provided by the government to attract private players in this field.
