The schedule for the auction of 3G spectrums for high-end services such as ultra-fast internet on mobile, which is slated to begin on January 14 will not be deferred. This was stated by the Minister for Communications, A Raja while inaugurating the three-day India telecom-2009 exhibition at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on Thursday. There were speculations that the auction of 3G may be deferred as more time is needed to coordinate and assign the airwaves vacated by the armed forces. Talking to reporters, Mr Raja also said 11 digit mobile numbers will be introduced to avoid congestion in the network.
