The Supreme Court has upheld the Bombay High Court order directing shifting of IPL matches outside drought-hit Maharashtra. Now, there will be no IPL matches in the State in May. <br/><br/>However, the match scheduled on 1st May in Pune stands. The apex court today rejected plea of Mumbai Cricket Association and Maharashtra Cricket Association against the High Court order.<br/><br/>The dismissal of the petition would lead to relocation of five matches which were to be played at home grounds of IPL franchises — Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants.

The Supreme Court has rejected the plea of Mumbai Cricket Association and Maharashtra Cricket Association against Bombay High Court order to shift IPL matches out of the drought-hit state. <br/><br/>The Bombay High Court had on April 13 ordered shifting of all IPL matches scheduled in Maharashtra after April 30 to another state in view of the severe drought in the state. As per the order, 13 matches, including the final in Mumbai scheduled for May 29, cannot be held in Maharashtra.
