The Supreme Court has upheld the Delhi High Court decision that the information about cases in which judgments were pending after being reserved cannot be divulged under the RTI Act. A bench of justices P C Ghose and Amitava Roy yesterday dismissed an RTI against Delhi High Court's division bench verdict on 7th January. The High Court's division bench had set aside the order of its single judge bench which had directed the Supreme Court registry to provide information to the petitioner.<br/><br/>The single judge verdict had upheld the order of the Central Information Commission, directing the Central Public Information Officer of the apex court to provide the sought information. The division bench had said the single judge verdict cannot be sustained. The RTI applicant had sought data of pending cases in which arguments have been heard by the apex court between 2007-2009 and the judgements were reserved in them.
