The Supreme Court will hear tomorrow Sahara chief Subrata Roy's plea challenging the Court's March 4 order sending him to judicial custody, in the case relating to non-refund of 20,000 crore rupees to its investors. Roy today challenged before the apex court, his detention order calling it illegal and unconstitutional and demanded his release. The Sahara group's lawyers failed to get any immediate relief with a bench headed by Chief Justice P Sathasivam referring the matter through a habeas corpus petition to a two-member bench of justices K S Radhakrishnan and J S Khehar. The bench will hear the petition tomorrow. The petition contends that Roy is not liable for contempt as he is not a Director or officer-in-charge of the two Sahara firms, which had collected money from investors.
