Supreme Court has agreed to hear tomorrow the interim applications of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh in the Padmavat row. The two states moved the apex court today seeking a recall of its 18th January order by which controversial Bollywood movie was allowed to be released in theatres across the country on this Friday.<br/><br/>The states claimed that section 6 of the Cinematograph Act empowers them to stop the exhibition of any controversial movie on the grounds of possible violation of law and order.The producers of the film, however, opposed urgent hearing on any such interim applications. But, a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra agreed to hear the applications.<br/><br/>Earlier on Friday, the Apex Court had rejected a plea seeking cancellation of Censor Board's certificate granted to the movie. The Court had also trashed the submission that the screening of the movie may cause a serious threat to life, property and law and order. The bench had said that maintaining law and order is the job of the state.<br/><br/>On Thursday, the apex court had paved the way for the nationwide release of the movie by staying the ban on the screening of the film in Gujarat and Rajasthan. The court had also restrained other states from issuing any such notification or order banning the screening of the film.
