SC to hear govt decision of minorities reservation in Central Educational institutes

The Supreme Court will take up today hearing of Centre's apeal against Andhra Pradesh High Court Order quashing 4.5 per cent reservation for minorities in the Central Educational institutes.

Yesterday, Centre placed before the Court the relevant material and documents on the basis of which it carved out 4.5 per cent sub-quota for minorities out of 27 per cent reservation for OBCs.

Additional Solicitor General Gourab Banerji mentioned the issue and placed the documents before a bench comprising justices K S Radhakrishnan and J S Khehar.

Earlier, the Court asked the Ministry of Human Resources Development to place the relevant material. The apex court refused to stay the Andhra Pradesh High Court order quashing the 4.5 per cent sub- quota for minorities.
