The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a peculiar appeal that whether a WhatsApp message can be treated a petition or not. An advocate brought up the issue before the apex court yesterday and it said, it will hear the matter on Monday. <br/><br/>The advocate argued that he had sent the Chief Justice a WhatsApp message from the US about an issue and that the court should have taken cognizance of the matter based on that. He raised the question that if a matter written on a postcard can be treated as PIL why can't the WhatsApp message. He said that WhatsApp can be better than a postcard as it is easier in case of WhatsApp to establish the identity of sender.
