The Supreme Court today stayed all further proceedings in a disproportionate assets case against Ajay and Abhay Chautala, sons of former Haryana Chief Minister and INLD leader Om Prakash Chautala. A bench of Justices V S Sirpurkar and Cyriac Joseph while staying the proceedings also issued notice to the CBI on a petition by the two brothers that the launch of prosecution against them was malicious and vitiated by alleged procedural illegality. The Chautalas had challenged a trial court order summoning them in the disproportionate assets case filed by the CBI.
