The Supreme Court has stayed the functioning of the committee set up by Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court to look into the sexual harassment complaint by a lower court judge. The Apex Court also issued notice to an Madhya Pradesh High Court judge against whom the woman has made the complaint.

On 26th of this month, the woman judge had moved the Supreme Court expressing dissatisfaction over setting up of a committee to look into her complaint. The former woman judge had pleaded the apex court to set up an external committee comprising two Chief Justices and one judge of High Court. The woman, who had resigned after the sexual harassment also pleaded the court to reinstate her as Additional District and Sessions Judge.
