SC stays Ayodhya title suit verdict for a week

The Supreme Court today stayed for a week the Ayodhya title suit verdict that was to be pronounced by Allahabad High Court tomorrow. The Apex court will now hear the plea of retired bureaucrat Ramesh Chand Tripathi for deferment of the judgement Tuesday. The Court also issued notices to the contesting parties on the petition. Tripathi challenged the order of the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court order refusing to defer the verdict in the 60-year-old Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid title suitdispute. It posted the matter for further hearing on September 28.
