SC sets March 4 as next date of hearing in BCCI Vs Lalid Modi election case

The Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI, today told the Supreme Court that former IPL Comissioner, Lalit Modi will emerge as a clear winner in the presidential election of Rajasthan Cricket Association, held in Jaipur on 19th of last month. However, at a hearing before the Apex court in New Delhi, it successfully opposed opening of a sealed envelope containing its results. The Court has now set March 4 as the next date of hearing on the issue. BCCI had imposed a life ban on Lalit Modi in September last year for alleged irregularities when he headed the IPL from 2008 to 2010. However, Modi was allowed to contest the elections on the basis of Rajasthan Sports Act, which did not recognise the BCCI ban.
