Supreme Court today asked Gujarat Government if there has been any departmental action against cops convicted in the Bilkis Bano gangrape case.<br/><br/>Chief Justice of India Justice Dipak Misra questioned how convicted policemen could go back to active service. The Apex Court also called for a status report in the case. Bilkis Bano was allegedly gang-raped by a mob during 2002 Gujarat riots.<br/><br/>On higher compensation sought by Bilkis Bano the supreme Court allowed her to file separate plea seeking enhancement of compensation awarded to her by lower courts.
