The Supreme Court today reserved its order on the maintainability of a petition in which the issue of alleged bribing of judges has been raised. A three-judge bench headed by Justice R K Agrawal said, it was likely to pass an order in the matter tomorrow.<br/><br/>The CBI lodged an FIR in September, naming several persons, including former Orissa High Court judge Ishrat Masroor Quddusi, as accused in an alleged corruption case. It is alleged that Quddusi along with others assured some Medical Colleges to get favourable orders from the top court. <br/><br/>It is also alleged that Quddusi and his accomplices received gratifications in return. The petition of these Medical Colleges was being heard by the bench of Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra.<br/>A bench of Justices J Chelameswar and S Abdul Nazeer had ordered on 9th November that the plea should be heard by a five-judge constitution bench of the senior-most judges of the<br/>apex court. <br/><br/>However later, a five-judge constitution bench headed by CJI Dipak Misra held that no judge other than CJI can direct Constitution of a specific bench as he is the Master of roster and only he can assigned a case to a specific bench. <br/><br/>The Constitution bench also annulled Justice Chelameswar's order and the matter was listed for hearing by a three-Judges bench.
