The Supreme Court has asked CBI Director Ranjit Sinha to recuse himself from overseeing 2G scam case probe. The apex court said the senior-most officer in the investigating team will take over the role Mr Sinha in the case.

The direction came after 2G case Special Public Prosecutor Anand Grover, earlier today, told the apex court that Mr Sinha interfered in the case which is completely inconsistent with the investigating agency’s stand. Mr Grover said the case could have been demolished if Mr Sinha’s stand was accepted.
