The Supreme Court today rapped the Uttar Pradesh government for alleged irregularities in the allocation of funds to educational institutions, including to a Etawah-based college, when Mulayam Singh Yadav was the chief minister in 2002-03.<br/><br/>A bench headed by Chief Justice J S Khehar questioned the state government over granting 100 crore rupees to educational bodies, allegedly without following procedures.<br/><br/>The top court asked UP government to file a response on the issue within two weeks. <br/><br/>The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India had earlier detected irregularities in the allocation of funds to educational institutions in the state by the then government in 2002-03.
