The Supreme Court has questioned the Centre on the lack of transparency in the appointment of Chief Vigilance Commissioner and Vigilance Commissioner.
The apex court said, transparency is the hallmark for the selection procedure. It said, the post should not be restricted to bureaucrats and people across all sections should be allowed to apply for the same.
The Attorney General assured the Court that no final decision will be taken for the appointment of Chief Vigilance Commissioner during the pendency of the case.
