The Supreme Court has pulled up the Centre for failing to adequately help drought-hit states. Hearing a public interest litigation today, the court expressed concern over the situation in drought-hit states.<br/><br/>The Court told the Union government that nine states are suffering from drought, and a blind eye cannot be turned towards their problems.<br/><br/>The PIL, filed by non-profit Swaraj Abhiyan, is seeking adequate relief to drought-hit states from the Centre.<br/><br/>In one of the previous hearings, the court had criticised states that had failed to implement the Food Security Act, considering the drought situation in the country.
