Supreme Court has permitted Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI to incur expense of 58 lakh 66 thousands rupees for the India-England test match in Rajkot beginning from tomorrow.

Hearing the BCCI's plea seeking the release of funds for the Rajkot Test, the Apex Court also permitted the same arrangement of incurring funds by the BCCI for international matches till December 3rd. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for BCCI, said, non-disbursal will result in cancellation of the test.

The top court also gave its nod to Lodha panel to engage the administration, staff, and experts to determine the amount to be paid by BCCI for contracts for matches. However, payments have to be made directly to parties concerned with a legitimate contract, and no fund will go to the Saurashtra cricket body.

The counsel representing the Lodha panel told the bench that the BCCI is in contempt by not obeying the apex court's direction in the issue. Earlier, the apex court had made it clear that there will be no disposal of funds to the State cricket bodies till they file an undertaking that they would comply with the recommendations of the Lodha panel on reforms in cricket in the country.
