SC orders sharing of clean feed with Prasar Bharati

The Supreme Court has ordered sharing of clean feed with national broadcaster Prasar Bharati.<br/><br/>Star India had challenged a 2013 Delhi High Court verdict which made it mandatory for the broadcaster to share clean, advertisement and logo free feed with Prasar Bharati.<br/><br/>A bench comprising justices A.K. Sikri and P.C. Pant dismissed Star's appeal.<br/><br/>According to sports boradcast signals Act, private broadcasters such as Star India must share coverage of sports events of national importance with the state-owned Prasar Bharti, without advertisements.<br/><br/>75 per cent of the revenue generated by Prasar Bharati goes to the company with broadcast rights.<br/><br/>Star India holds the rights to broadcast cricket events organized under the International Cricket Council in India.
