SC orders house arrest of alleged Maoist sympathizers detained in connection with Bhima-Koregaon violence case till 6th September

The Supreme Court has ruled that the five alleged Maoist sympathizers — Varavara Rao, Vernon Gonzalves, Arun Ferreira, Sudha Bharadwaj and Gautam Navlakha — arrested yesterday will not be sent to jail but be under house arrest under police watch until the 6th of September. <br />''<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra observed that "dissent is the safety valve of democracy. The apex court issued notice to the Maharashtra government and the state police on a plea by five prominent persons against the arrests in connection with the case.</span><br />
