The Supreme Court has ordered an environment study on Nirma cement project in Gujarat. The plant is believed to be set up on wetlands in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. A 3-judge bench headed by the Chief Justice S H Kapadia directed the Expert Appraisal Committee of the Ministry of Environment and Forests to study the project on its Environment Impact and submit the report by May 10.
