The Supreme Court will today pronounce its order on the issue of implementation of Justice RM Lodha panel recommendations on structural reforms in BCCI. A bench, headed by Chief Justice TS Thakur, had reserved its verdict on the 30th of last month after over a dozen hearings. In January this year, the apex court-appointed Lodha Committee had recommended sweeping reforms and an administrative shake-up at BCCI.

Later in March, when the hearing began, BCCI had been averse to some of the recommendations. It had objected to suggestions like one state-one vote, age and tenure cap on office-bearers and CAG nominee on its board. Some of the state cricket associations, former players Kirti Azad and Bishen Singh Bedi and cricket administrators also approached the apex court with regard to implementation of Lodha panel recommendations in BCCI.
