The Supreme Court today issued notices to the companies whose licences have been cancelled by the Centre in the Coalgate scam case. It issued notices on the application filed by the Centre seeking transfer of all the petitions filed by the companies in various High Courts challenging the cancellation of their coal mining licences, to Supreme Court.The Centre in its petition has contended that transfer of all the cases relating to the allocation of coal mining licences at one place shall facilitate the speedy disposal of the petition.The NDA government has also pleaded that it will also end multiple litigation of the same issue of challenging the validity of cancellation of licences.
