The Supreme Court has sought the stands of the Centre and the Election Commission of India on Janata Party Chief Subramanian Swamy's plea to incorporate either paper print outs with EVMs or restore paper balloting as the electronic machines are not tamper-proof.
Issuing notices to the Centre and the poll panel today , a bench of Justices, P. Sathavisam and J.Chelameswar sought their replies on the plea, which challenged the Delhi High Court's order dismissing his petition on the issue either.
Swamy also submitted a list of several western and European countries where similar methods for printouts for EVMs are being used during elections in those countries.
