The Supreme Court has given the green signal for nursery admissions in Delhi. Quashing the February 27 notification issued by the Delhi government which scrapped the inter-state transfer category for nursery admission, the apex court asked Delhi govt to raise number of seats, if required, to accommodate 24 students who approached it.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had made it clear that it cannot pass a general order and relief will be confined to those parents who filed petitions before it for admission of their kids.
On April 11, the apex court had put on hold the April 3 interim order of Delhi High Court permitting the schools to go ahead with the admission process except in cases of admissions of inter-state transfers, IST, after some parents challenged the notification, scrapping the IST quota.
