SC likely to hear batch of petitions challenging Citizenship Amendment Act on Sep 12

<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">The Supreme Court is likely to hear a batch of petitions challenging the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) on  12th of this month. A bench led by Chief Justice of India UU Lalit is likely to hear over 200 petitions filed challenging the 2019 Act. The CAA came into effect on 10th January, 2020 which seeks to make migrants belonging to Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi or Christian communities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh or Pakistan, eligible for citizenship. </p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>
