The Supreme Court today issued notices to the Centre and Haryana government on a plea for judicial probe into alleged assault of journalists by police while arresting Rampal in Haryana.

Police had lathi charged media persons, covering the operation, during the police operation to arrest Rampal in Hisar last month. Nearly 50 to 60 media persons were injured in the incident. Some of them were seriously hurt and the equipment of a few others were broken.
