SC issues notice to Centre over alleged violation of norms on govt advertisements

The Supreme Court has issued notice to the Centre on a plea alleging blatant violation of its norms on government advertisements. The court has sought to know whether a three-member panel to regulate its directions on government advertisements has been formed or not.<br/>The apex court had, in May, ruled that neither the Centre nor the state governments can squander money on promoting politicians or the schemes they have introduced. It has asked the Centre to explain if its directive is being implemented.
