The Supreme Court has dismissed a plea filed by Zakia Jafri, widow of former Congress MP Ehsan Jafri, challenging a clean chit given by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and several others in the 2002 Gujarat riots case.<br />''<br />'' Pronouncing the judgment, a bench consisting of Justices A.M. Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari and C.T. Ravi Kumar upheld the Special Metropolitan Magistrate's order rejecting Jafri's protest petition against the closure report filed by the SIT. While dismissing the Petition, the Apex Court also held that the petition was devoid of merits.<br />''<br />'' Zakia Jafri, wife of Congress leader Ehsan Jafri who was killed during the violence at Gulbarg Society in Ahmedabad in 2002, had challenged the Special Investigation Team's report that had cleared 64 people, including Modi, in the case. <br />'' &nbsp;<br />
