SC dismisses teachers' recruitment in Tripura

The Supreme Court today dismissed recruitment of 10,323 government teachers under Tripura government. Tripura High Court were earlier cancelled the verdict in 2014 after finding irregularities in the process.<br/><br/>The division bench of Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel and Uday Umesh Lalit ordered this while hearing petitions filed by the state government and other parties. <br/><br/>Reacting to the verdict, State Education Minister Tapan Chakraborthy told media this evening that the order was unexpected. He said that the state government would stand by the terminated teachers. Mr Chakraborty also asked those teachers not to be anxious. <br/><br/>In its order the apex court said that these employees could remain in job till 31st of December this year and in the meantime, the state government has been asked to frame a new recruitment policy and fresh recruitment process and the candidates, terminated by the order today, would be allowed to face the process as per the conditions of the fresh policy.
