Supreme Court has dismissed a PIL seeking quashing of the president's rule in Uttarakand. A bench of Chief Justice TS Thakur and Justice U U Lalit yesterday questioned the locus standi of the petitioner asking him in what way he is affected by the President's rule in Uttrakhand.

The apex court also held that it cannot go into the advice tendered by the Union Council of Ministers to the President to impose President's rule in the state. The PIL, by advocate ML Sharma, had also sought a CBI probe into the allegations of 'horse-trading' before the dismissal of the Harish Rawat-led Congress government in the state.
