The Supreme Court today directed the NTPC not to cut the power supply to BSES in Delhi, till March 26th. The Bench also directed the BSES to pay fifty crore rupees to NTPC within two weeks. NTPC had last week, issued notices to BSES Rajdhani and BSES Yamuna on the issue of payment security mechanism and non-payment of outstanding dues to the state-run company. In the notice, NTPC warned of cutting power supply if dues are not paid by the tenth of this month. The two companies supply electricity to nearly 70 percent areas of Delhi.Earlier, the Delhi Government had warned the discoms that their licenses could be cancelled if they do not cooperate with the CAG in audit.
