The Supreme Court today directed investigation into the 2G spectrum scam between 2001 to 2008. The apex court told the CBI and ED to place the progress report of the investigation in a sealed cover on 10 February next year. It further ruled that Delhi High Court order not allowing the plea of the petitioners for CBI probe was erroneous. The Apex court said that the CAG report prima facie makes it clear that spectrum allocation was allocated to ineligible licensees. It also asked CBI to probe why TRAI did not take action against the ineligible licensees.
