SC didn’t address me correctly, says former SC Judge Ganguly

The Chairman of the West Bengal Human Rights Commission and Former Supreme Court Judge Mr. Ashok Kumar Ganguly has said that, powerful quarters are trying to tarnish his image as he had rendered judgments against them. Mr. Ganguly who indicted over sexually harassing a law intern in a letter to the Chief Justice of India Justice P. Sathasivam today said that, the Supreme Court had not given him a proper hearing on the issue. In the eight-page letter Justice Ganguly denied allegations of sexually harassing or making unwelcome advances to the women intern.

He also questioned the validity of the three Judge Supreme Court panel to probe the matter since the intern was not on the rolls of the Supreme Court and he was a retired judge. A copy of his letter has also been forwarded to the President Mr. Pranab Mukherjee.
Meanwhile, pressure is mounting from different circles demanding immediate resignation of justice Ganguly from the post of Chairmanship of West Bengal Human Rights Commission.
