SC defers hearing to Feb 25 in 1988 road rage case against Navjot Singh Sidhu

The Supreme Court on Thursday deferred hearing a petition seeking a review of its 15 May 2018 order that absolved the Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu with a 1000 rupees fine in a 1988 road rage case in which a resident of Patiala Gurnam Singh has died. The court will hear the petition on February 25 now.<br />''<br />''A special bench of Justices A M Khanwilkar and Sanjay Kishan Kaul adjourned the hearing on a request made by senior advocate P Chidambaram on behalf of Sidhu. The counsel claimed the review petitions were listed for hearing unexpectedly. He also said a new advocate-on-record has been engaged and he was informed about the hearing late last night only.<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Punjab is set for Assembly polls on February 20 and Mr Sidhu is contesting polls from Amritsar East and is contender to be CM face of the party.</span><br />
