SC defers final hearing in Sutlej-Yamuna Link case to April 27

The Supreme Court today deferred the final hearing in the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal case to 27th of April. The court stated that it does not want to shut the door to an amicable solution in the matter. <br/><br/>The final hearing was put off after the Centre informed the court that a meeting of Punjab and Haryana has been convened by it on April 20 to resolve the issue. The court, however, made it clear that if a solution is not found, it will proceed with the matter on the next date of hearing. <br/><br/>The bench headed by Justice PC Ghose considered the statement of Solicitor General Ranjit Kumar and deferred the hearing in the case.
