The Supreme Court has refused to entertain the PILs seeking a court-monitored CBI probe into the alleged multi-crore rupees scam in public distribution system (PDS) in Chhattisgarh. A bench headed by Justice TS Thakur yesterday said that the pleas may be filed in the state High Court.<br/><br/>Advocate and former Law Minister Kapil Sibal, appearing for the petitioner, appealed that influential persons are involved and hence, the apex court should intervene. While Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi, who represented BJP-led Chhattisgarh government, opposed the pleas terming them as the part of political vendetta.<br/><br/>Finally, the bench dismissed the petitions with liberty to approach the High Court. It clarified that it was not expressing any opinion on the merits of the case. The petitions were filed by former Congress MLA Virendra Pandey and others.
