The Supreme Court denied on Wednesday removing its stay against further construction of Parks, memorials and installation of statues in the name of dalit leaders including Chief Minister Mayawati at Lucknow. A division bench of the court consisting Justice HS Bedi and Justice JM Panchal passed this order after hearing contempt proceedings against Chief Secretary of the State Mr. Atul Kumar Gupta. The court has fixed 30th of this month for further hearing of the contempt case. However, the court has given relief to Mr. Gupta for his personnel appearance on next hearing. Meanwhile, Mr. Gupta has tendered an unconditional apology to the Apex court for allegedly violating its order and undertaking given by him. In an affidavit, he has said that he was tendering an unqualified apology if there was any kind of disobedience or deviation in complying with the court directions. AIR Lucknow Correspondent reports that the Apex court had initiated contempt proceedings on 6th of last month against the Chief Secretary Mr. Gupta and had directed for his personnel appearance in the court. The contempt proceedings have been initiated on the ground that the undertaking given by the Chief Secretary on September 8 and order of the Apex court passed on September 11 on stoppage of construction activities at the sites have been flouted.<br/>
