The Supreme Court has directed the Centre and the states to set up storage facilities for the drugs seized by them within six months. While hearing on an appeal yesterday, a bench headed by Chief Justice of India, T S Thakur said, in order to prevent theft, pilferage or replacement of the seized drugs, agencies should set up exclusive storage facilities.<br/><br/>Noting that the drug-menace in the country has alarming proportions, the apex court also asked the High Courts to appoint Judicial Committees to supervise the progress made by the respective states with regard to compliance of its directions.
