The Supreme Court allowed the Italian merchant navy ship Enrica Lexie to leave Indian shores along with crew members and remaining marines. A bench of justices R M Lodha and H L Gokhale, however, directed the crew members of the Italian merchant navy ship and marines to make themselves available whenever they are required by Indian authorities during the investigation and prosecution of the two arrested marines who are in judicial custody.
Setting aside the Kerala High Court's order restraining the ship from leaving Indian shores, it directed the ship owner to execute a bond of three crore rupees before the Registrar General of the Kerala High Court.
