Supreme Court has allowed Centre to reconstitute the oversight committee looking after Medical Council of India (MCI) functioning. The new committee will replace the court-appointed committee led by ex-Chief Justice R M Lodha. <br/><br/>Centre has given the Apex Court, names of five doctors who would replace members of the earlier oversight committee. The court had in May last year set up the committee to function for a period of one year or till a suitable mechanism was brought in by the government in its place.
