The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to hear the Maharashtra government's plea against the acquittal of two accused in the 26/11 Mumbai attack case.
The Apex court also issued notices to Faheem Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed, who were acquitted in the case.
The Maharashtra government petition had challenged the February 21st Bombay High Court order upholding their acquittal by the trial court. The two were acquitted for want of corroborative evidence.
The High court had, however, confirmed the conviction and death sentence awarded to the lone surviving Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab.
The Supreme Court on Friday refused to pass any order regarding Ajmal Kasab, saying it was taking steps on a letter written by him challenging his conviction.
