State Bank of India (SBI) has launched a branch exclusively for billionaires in Hyderabad. The customers should have minimum one crore rupee opening balance to become the clientele of the branch. Named as 'Kohinoor Banjara Premium Banking Centre', the 'crorepati only' branch has been opened yesterday in Hyderabad's posh Banjarahills area. AIR correspondent reports, facing stiff competition from its private competitors that are offering customized services, the largest public sector bank of the country, State Bank of India has come up with a new idea of targeting its preferred clientele. Named after Kohinoor Diamond that was originally found in the city, the Kohinoor Banjara Premium Banking Centre has started providing special services to those who will deposit minimum one crore rupees with the bank. Spread in an area of over 4,000 square feet, the Crorepati branch will roll out a red carpet to its clientele by offering special services like personalised relationship managers, 24/7 lockers, extended banking hours, doorstep pick-up and drop facilities, in addition to offering with five-star amenities at the branch. It is yet to be seen what kind of response the banking major will get from Hyderabadis.
