The 70-year old liberal Saudi writer and government Minister Ghazi al-Gosaibi has died in Rhiyad. His works were banned in Saudi Arabia for most of his life. Ghazi al-Gosaibi, one of the best-known writers and public figures in Saudi Arabia, died of cancer. He had a long career in the Saudi government as well as writing a number of books, including novels and poems. He also served as the Saudi ambassador to Britain and to Bahrain.
