Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Hamid Ali Rao has assured expatriate Indian workers that he would extend all possible help to address their concerns in the wake of new immigration law under the Niataqat program.He met the representatives of Indian community in Dammam on Tuesday to seek first-hand information about the problems faced by them.Members of the community submitted memorandums listing their various grievances.The Federation of Overseas Indian Organizations urged the Ambassador to look into the issue of poor living conditions at the deportation centre for illegal expatriates.The Indian Ambassador told the gathering that the matter has already been taken up with the authorities, and that several hospitals and dispensaries were willing to provide treatment to the inmates of the centre. He also said that embassy was ready to provide initial legal assistance to those in need. There are around 2 million expatriate Indians in Saudi Arabia.
